BVHS follows the Guidelines outlined by Hockey Calgary for House Hockey within Hockey Calgary.

Hockey Equipment

Hockey Equipment Information.

If you are new to hockey, please click here to learn how to put the equipment on.

Hockey Sticks should be cut off between the players chin and nose while on skates.  Tape should be put on both the butt end and blade of the stick.

Skates should be sharpened prior to the first ice time. Skates out of the box are not sharp, they need to be sharpened.

There are no Grievances in the U9 age category.

Skills Testing Information

U9 age group will do the following drills for skills testing:

  • Transition Skate without Puck
  • 100 Foot Skate Forwards with Puck
  • 100 Foot Skate Forwards without Puck
  • 100 Foot Skate Backwards without Puck
  • Agility Weave without Puck

The U11 and U13 Age Group will do the following drills for skills testing:

  • Transition Skate without Puck
  • 100 Foot Skate Forwards with Puck
  • 100 Foot Skate Forwards without Puck
  • 100 Foot Skate Backwards without Puck
  • 100 Foot Skate Backwards with Puck
  • Agility Weave with Puck
  • Agility Weave without Puck
